The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are now open and may shut on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should meet the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house having a combined gross family income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined household income does not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not submit any evidence of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the correct Id Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to research in a public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply read more timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
